Motor Avenue Farmers Market
The Motor Avenue Farmers’ Market enhances the farm-to-table connection and availability of fresh, local produce to residents in the Palms, Cheviot Hills, Beverlywood, and surrounding communities. The market is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable food system through its operation and educational programs. Our Urban Garden Program features two community and three school gardens with the purpose of educating our children and neighbors on nutrition, sustainability, and community cooperation. As a California Certified farmers market, our farmers are exclusively certified producers which guarantees patrons that their produce is grown in California by the people who are selling it. Our local growers use fewer pesticides, take better care of the soil, and cause less runoff and pollution than the average American farm while using 4 to 17 times less petroleum on transporting their goods to market.
The market takes place every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9am to 2pm at the intersection of Motor Ave and National Blvd. Our community response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we love seeing all our neighbors out and about every Sunday morning! The market consistently provides a wonderful opportunity to create synergy between local businesses and residents while promoting a healthy city and a vibrant community.

The Farmers’ Market is a public/private collaborative effort of the Motor Avenue Improvement Association (MAIA), Faith2Green, and a supportive group of local businesses and residents including the IMAN Cultural Center, My Baby Jo, and Barbri Preparatory. It was made possible with the assistance of Los Angeles Councilmember Paul Koretz and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.
